There is not much that can top the coveted, highly-sought after, statement piece that is the kitchen island; the unanimous belle of the kitchen. Its grandeur is measured in length, height, and weight – its aesthetic status coming down to the quality of the countertop material.
However, the homogenous desire for a white marble kitchen island – while classic and a choice that can do you no wrong – is beginning to unravel. With its ever growing predictability and safe popularity, designers are starting to dream up kitchen islands as bold as their weight and as aesthetically important as their specific design point of view.
It is difficult to find pieces in a home that don’t tie the room together but rather stand out in all of their glory as the hero piece in a way that turns heads, makes you think, or evokes a new feeling within.
These five kitchen islands do just that.
